The energy efficiency of our range of windows is boosted by Warm Edge Technology from Super Spacer and SWISSPACER. Warm edge spacer bars improve the life span of the glazing unit by reducing the risk of cold bridging through the glass unit and thus condensation.
More and more of us live in crowded urban environments. As our roads become busier and the hustle and bustle of life outdoors gets louder, acoustics and sound reduction are increasingly important in enabling homeowners and residents to live quietly and peacefully in the City, in busy traffic areas or near airports, rail lines or motorways. Russell Timber's unique Premium Performance Acoustic range provides outstanding acoustic properties with noise reduction of up to 54db at a U-value of 1.2 W/m2K for timber or alu-clad.
Russell Timber’s Premium Performance Acoustic range includes a full range of top and side hung fully reversible windows, tilt & turn windows, single and double balcony, tilt & turn doors, folding and sliding doors.
Russell Timber Technology windows and doors are tested to the requirements of Secured by Design.
All fully reversible windows use the Spilka hinge, which has undergone extreme testing by Spilka. It is a high quality, durable and secure component with a smooth operating system.
The doors incorporate intumescent smoke seals and draught seals and an 'ease of lock operation' which allows instant release in an emergency. They have been tried and tested in situ as well as within fire laboratories, and have passed the BRE simulated arson test. Our range includes 30 minute and 60 minute fire rated doors with accompanying screens if required.
We are passionate about our doors and windows and engineer them to excel in the extremes of British weather to give regular long term use in the buildings for which they are specified. To this end, products have been tested by Chiltern Dynamics for Air Permeability, Water Tightness and Wind Resistance, plus resistance to racking, static torsion, repeated opening and closing, and to load bearing capacity of safety devices and operating forces.
Protected by factory applied, long life coatings, with care and appropriate planned maintenance, they will look good and last the lifetime of a modern building.
Russell Timber offers sustainable, fully certified timber windows and doors which have a 35 years plus lifespan. With planned maintenance and due care and attention, they will last the lifetime of a modern building. Our complete range uses timber from managed forests with Full Chain of Custody certified to FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council® certification), PEFC™ (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) and BM TRADA Forest Products. Timber products in an exterior location require the highest protection from the elements as well as a beautiful finish. Russell Timber Technology sources a clear and pigmented coating system developed in Scandinavia by an international team of specialist chemists which has performed in the harsh climatic conditions of Norway & Sweden for over 30 years. The range offers enhanced light fastness, good body and an even surface. Stains and pigments have been engineered using high technology resins that breathe and flex with the timber. Coatings are environmentally friendly, water-based formulations with low odour and no solvents. Paints are applied using electrostatic wrap around robotic technology giving optimum protection whilst reducing waste.
Our products are supplied fully factory finished with premium waterborne opaque paints and translucent stains, applied by the latest electrostatic automatic technology. This offers protection and extends maintenance periods. The paint coatings we use are developed to ensure the timber is protected against damaging UV light. The coatings adhere tightly to the timber and remain flexible so they retain their ability to accommodate small natural movement in the wood without cracking.
Our fully factory finished ranges of timber window and door frames come with a range of warranties assuming good site and maintenance practice. We offer a 30 year warranty against fungal rot; a 10 year warranty against manufacturing defects, and a 10 year guarantee on our BS EN 1279 kitemarked insulated units when factory fitted by Russell Timber Technology. The guarantee does not cover breakage of glass following installation.
Locking mechanisms and hinges and all metallic moving parts are guaranteed by the manufacturers for up to 10 years subject to regular maintenance by the customer. Cosmetic deterioration to handles, letter plates, door handles etc... due to general wear and tear are not covered.
Russell Timber's Opaque Paint Finish is guaranteed for up to 8 years, the Opaque Stain Finish is up to 5 years and the Translucent Stain Finish is guaranteed for up to 2 years - this guarantee is dependent on elevation and maintenance. The life span on the coating will be affected by site exposure to weather and UV light. It is the responsibility of the customer to inspect coatings annually and take any specific action to maintain the manufacturer's guarantee. Excludes consequential loss.
All guarantees are product and purpose dependent and may vary by location, excludes consequential loss. Guarantees are non-transferrable and will be null and void should the products be abused, or incorrectly installed or maintained as per the manufacturer's instructions, or not paid for in full.

Every door and window and every component in them is uniquely coded and logged on our Total Traceability Database - a detailed database showing exactly where every one of your doors and windows has been installed, even if you choose to install them yourself. Provided you register the actual address with us, not just the Plot number, we can tell you down to the level of individual components in each door and window where they have been installed – and what floor and what side of the building – so identification and reordering is fast, simple and hassle free.
